ISLE OF SKYE ESTATE AGENCY - WELCOME
YOUR NO.1 ESTATE AGENCY
Skye's longest established estate agency - established 1981
The head office of this successful business is located in the same high profile premises it occupied over 25 years ago situated on the main road leading into Portree’s famous square. Over the years the business has grown to be the biggest estate agency in the area with 3 full time members of staff plus a second office in the Main Street at Kyle of Lochalsh. Our window displays are bright and attractive and it is unusual to pass the Portree Office during the day and not see people browsing our windows. Indeed in the busy summer months crowds gather on the pavement outside and indulge their dream of moving to the Highlands of Scotland sometime in the future. Many of them do of course make that move and we do our utmost to help them find the home of their dreams. We understand the differences between the English and Scottish legal systems and also have a very necessary understanding of Crofting Law which is obviously invaluable in this part of the world. Our web site has recently been refreshed and it is crucial to have an easy to find, easy to access and attractive site as the majority of purchasers find their property via the internet. Our site is updated daily so there are no delays on new properties coming on or any information being added, it is almost instantaneous!
The success of this small company is hard to understand but it is probably due to a number of different facts such as the Company’s commitment to up to date technology, staff training and the professional and knowledgeable service offered. Our manager is Pauline Eggermont who worked for the Company back in the early 90’s and then moved on to work for a large national company as a Senior Sales Negotiator and Manager. Pauline also has wide experience in marketing having worked in advertising for Scottish and Universal Newspapers and as the advertising manager for the local Skye and Lochalsh newspaper The West Highland Free Press. Her return to the company in 2002 was like returning home to the job she loves with a passion and knows inside out! Our Senior Sales Negotiator is Lorna Kirkpatrick, a local lady who has been working with the company for 5 years. Lorna trained initially in Travel and Tourism gaining an HND from Glasgow College and since joining the estate agency has taken an SVQ Level 3 in Residential Estate Agency, a very useful qualification in the circumstances! Our final team member, last but by no means least, is Emma Gillies who left school and studied Social Sciences at college in Glasgow and then after returning home worked for a local bank before joining us two years ago. Emma has now completed an SVQ Level 3 in Business Administration a qualification that helps her very much in her day to day business as our Sales Receptionist extraordinaire.
Thinking of selling or buying please call in to meet us for a friendly informal chat – we would love to meet you.

Our office in Kyle of Lochalsh had a total revamp in August 2007 and in fact moved into dedicated premises next door to the offices it used to share. We also managed to secure the services of Linda Yates who brings her vast knowledge and experience to the business. Linda is a customer care oriented professional who is dedicated to making the service in the Kyle office second to none. Linda will help you in every possible way to sell or buy a property and with the back up of the Portree team will succeed in making the Kyle office the ‘one and only’ estate agency to use in the Lochalsh area. Why would anyone settle for second best?
